Titled \u201cRan,\u201d their latest track does\u00a0not reinvent the wheel; rather, it redirects the aforementioned wheel toward, well, the future<\/i>. A subtle evolution of contemporary catharsis, \u201cRan\u201d falls into line with Future Islands\u2019 racing movie-trailer-esque encapsulation, magnifying the many warped intricacies of a single feeling with bellowing tenacity.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat\u2019s a song without you\/when every song I write is about you?\u201d concedes singer Samuel T. Herring, returning with his signature tenderized, chest-pounding vocal exorcism.
